Anna Redwood

The work of British artist, Anna Redwood, has recently focussed on examining and breaking down the divisions that exist between our spiritual and empirical realities.

Redwood creates speculative worlds, caught between the perceived and the actual: worlds which the audience can actively engage in, thereby becoming a part of the work. They serve as a reminder that the rational and the mythic should not be in opposition: both are vital to the human experience/perspective, and the way we understand the world around us.

Her process is inextricably linked to the materials she uses, often natural, used, found and reflective of cosmological order. The basic structures of the pieces have a continuity about them and can be infinitely changed or reinvented.
